God’s dream

When you were younger, you probably dreamt of what you wanted to do in life whether it was a stewardess, football player or like me a playground leader.  Have you ever wondered where those dreams come from?

According to 2 Corinthians 5:7 For we live by faith, not by sight (NLT), God gives us our dreams.  Since conception God has had a plan for us and gives us dreams throughout our lives to keep us pursuing and living those dreams.

Many of us get to the end of our lives and realize we haven’t really lived at all. Yes we have married, had children, worked a job to make money and pay bills and have done everything we have been raised to do right but still have this emptiness within us or are unfulfilled.&...

Today, I feel that it is important for me to write about faith and share a true story about one man's faith and my close mindedness to it.  We have all had situations in our lives that have led us to either have faith in a higher power or spiritual being or to close our minds and walk aimlessly amonst the world just existing.  I am no different but a couple years ago my friend Matt called me and gave me the name of someone he knew that was opening up a holistic store locally and was looking for a massage therapist.  I called the gentleman and we met at the store.  When we met he gave me a tour of the undeveloped site and what he invisioned for each section. As he was talking I was trying to see the same vision and ...

Learning to walk all over again

Do you remember when you were a baby and starting to walk?  At first you would take a step and then fall down and try after try you would pull yourself and try again.  As you were learning you had people around you, your parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings and daycare providers cheering you on.  Throughout our lives we have always had the support of family, friends, teachers and coaches assisting us with choices we make in life.

Sometimes in life we get so bogged down with what happened in our past that we can’t pull ourselves up and move forward.  That is when you need to start to learn to walk again.  Take a look at what you want to change and start ...

Expert vs Experience

One of my massage colleagues made a post through social networking the other day asking “how can someone call themselves an expert when all they do is repost information from other sources” and it got me thinking.  What is truly the difference?  To me the difference is strictly the ending of the word, the letter “t” or the letters “ience”.  In order to be considered an expert, one must first have experience in the area of knowledge.  I do not consider myself an expert in anything, but I do have a lot of experience in many areas such as; massage, recreation, juicing, essential oils, cancer and many other areas of life.  Some of which are wonderful and some are...

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website and I look forward to working with you as a client whether it is with massage, cancer or overall good health.  A brief overview of how Time For Reflection Massage and Resource Center was developed and inspired was due to a cancer diagnosis 10 years ago.  After I finished treatment in 2003, I asked my Oncologists what I could change in my life to prevent the cancer from returning and she said nothing.  After pondering it for a while, I decided I had to reflect upon what my life was like and where I wanted it to go.  So for the past 10 years, I have worked diligently to bring my mind, body and spirit in unison to live a more wholesome life.

As the New Year begins everyone usually sets resolutions that they know they are not going to follow through with and within the first month they give up on them.  I invite you to join me in bringing in 2012 by setting goals instead of resolutions.  Goals if set properly help you to follow through and commit to yourself versus a resolution that you don't really have to commit to.  In 2006, I decided to start setting goals and over the past 6 years I have accomplished many tasks from losing weight, attending and graduating from massage therapy school, opening my own massage business, and writing and publishing a book about cancer.

The very first step is that you have to believe in ...
